Over 80% of Laramie County holds library cards. This was to be a destination place. The contemporary architecture is infused with light and neutral values playing off textures. A vibrant mix of colors dots the building landscape to reinforce the aspect of fun and theme of prairie in bloom. Flexibility was planned into the furnishings design. Areas for children, teens and adults include active and quiet spaces for education and entertainment.

Laramie County LS was awarded Library of the year - the Impact Library for 2008 by Gale Library Journal and expects LEED Silver Certification through USGBC.
